We can offer your pupils the opportunity to challenge themselves in a safe environment. Whether it's a fun session for your class or a structured programme we can cater for all needs. We are experienced at working with the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme NICAS, GCSE & Duke of Edinburgh syllabi. Climbing is a sport which everyone can take part in. It can help to develop confidence, coordination, balance and teamwork. Just let us know what type of session you require and we will organise your session.
These can be booked as a one off taster, as an exciting reward or as a block of fun sessions. The sessions involve a warm up through climbing games for younger children that encourage balance, coordination or a more structured warm up involving stretches and simple conditioning for older children, health and fitness permitting. The majority of the fun sessions would be spent attempting the wall routes with the groups working together supporting and belaying for each other whilst being supervised by our instructors.
Structured courses are run by our highly experienced instructors for a minimum of four weeks. Courses are often linked to National Curriculum, Duke of Edinburgh, GNVQ or Youth Award Scheme requirements. Schools often decide to participate in the NICAS scheme. There are 5 NICAS levels each of which is completed with a certificate. The courses provide a solid foundation in climbing safety and essential rope techniques whilst building confidence, trust and teamwork.
Each year the Inter-Schools Climbing Competition is hosted at The Leeds Wall. This is an opportunity for students across Yorkshire to come together and join in a fun day out. The competition involves teams of up to 8 doing both routes and bouldering. It can be a great way for students to use the skills they have learnt over the year. Everyone receives a certificate for taking part. There are both combined Team Shields to win as well as individual male and female age categories.

For those between the ages of 14 to 18 who have received a minimum of 12 climbing sessions under instruction there is the opportunity to undertake a competence assessment allowing them if successful to become junior members and climb unsupervised at the centre.
For our regularly visiting schools we host an annual Inter- Schools Climbing Competition.
